The Roman Theater is located in the center of Fethiye, behind the port. The history of this ancient theater dates back to the Hellenistic era, but it was destroyed by an ancient earthquake. It was restored and rebuilt by the Romans in the second century AD. It was built in the style of the traditional Roman theater using marble. There are many inscriptions on the walls of the theater, which indicate that Alexander the Great was the one who built it in this ancient style.
The Roman amphitheater can accommodate approximately 6,000 visitors. It was built on large areas to be classified among the largest historical theaters in the world.
The theater is designed in the form of harmonious and meticulously arranged terraces, and is located near many cafés and recreational parks.
